NORMA LEE (BOLL) TUXHORN, daughter of Lorie Kenneth and Viola Esther (Elkins) Boll, was born on May 12, 1927 in Greenfield, OK. She departed this life on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita, KS at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 8 days.

Norma attended St. James High School in Port Arthur, TX, graduating with the Class of 1945. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Laurance R. “Happy” Tuxhorn on September 9, 1946 in Winfield, KS.

Norma was a homemaker, always helping others. Norma and Hap lived several places over the years, including Guymon and Fairview. A year following his death she moved to Kansas to be closer to her children. In her spare time Norma enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, reading novels, and playing cards and dominoes with her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Laurance R. “Happy” Tuxhorn, daughter Linda Sue Osborn, step-son Herbert E. Tuxhorn, sister Winifred Hood, and grandson Larry Young.

She is survived by six children: sons, Arthur Tuxhorn and wife Donna of Belle Plaine, KS, Elmer Tuxhorn and wife Sue of Cleo Springs, OK, Larry Max Tuxhorn and wife Linda of Hutchinson, KS, Andy Tuxhorn of Parker, TX; daughters, Glennis Martt and husband Ed of Diamond, MO, Caroline Germany of Cherokee, OK; son-in-law, Terry Osborn of Clinton, OK; two brothers, Robert Weaver and wife Betty of Ft. Collins, CO, Jim Weaver and wife Lois of Woodward, OK; and sister Kathryn McGuire of Guymon, OK. Norma is also survived by a beautiful legacy of 23 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services for Norma will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Helena, OK with Pastor Jay Drawbridge presiding.

Memorial Donations in Norma’s name may be made out to Villa Maria and mailed to Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663).
