The funeral service for Dale Summers, 67 year-old Enid resident, will be at 10:00AM Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at North Garland Church of Christ. Gordan Jantz will officiate. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery near Helena at 1:00PM under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Dale Summers was born to Joseph Summers and Leota Fussell Summers in Hardtner, KS on November 16, 1948. He spent his childhood in Medicine Lodge, KS and attended school there and in Helena, OK. In 1965, he volunteered for service in the United States Navy and served on the USS Enterprise as a hydraulic mechanic during Vietnam. After his discharge, he married Beverly Jo Jantz in Helena, OK on March 15, 1968. They were blessed with two daughters.

He worked as a diesel mechanic in Texas and Oklahoma until returning to college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1995. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1999. His next career was as a software developer for Advance Foods in Enid, OK where he worked until retirement in 2010.

He served as a deacon and then an elder at North Garland Church of Christ in Enid, OK.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brothers, Joseph Jr. and James.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Teresa and husband, David; daughter, Rebecca and husband, Gary; and seven grandchildren. He will also be mourned by his sister, Janet Piersall; brother, Bob and wife, Leatha; and his nieces and nephews. His Christian family in the Philippines will also mourn for the man they called “Daddy Dale” after he traveled there to teach the gospel in 2005.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Philippines Missions.
