Aldred Arlington McCune
Aldred Arlington McCune, 55 years old long- time resident of the Aline-Helena community, died early Friday afternoon in an Enid hospital. He entered the hospital Monday night.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Helena, with Reverend Jim Brown and B.R. Rhodes officiating.
Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Fossett Funeral Home of Helena.
McCune was born in Kansas and came to a farm southwest of Helena with his parents when he was eighteen years old. He and Bessie Kincade were married April 16, 1938, in Medford and lived in Enid five years before moving to a farm near Aline. He had been in ill health for the past eighteen months.
McCune, a farmer, was also a houseparent at the Helena Training School for Boys. He was a member of the Followers of Christ Church.
His body will lie in state at the Fossett Funeral Home in Helena until 12:45 p.m. Monday and at the First Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The casket will not be opened following the service.
McCune is survived by his wife, Bessie, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Janice) Stone, Tulsa and Mrs. Jim (Karen) Pinkley, Edmond; a brother, Marion McCune of Helena; two sisters, Mrs. Ira McCreary, Enid and Mrs. J.C. Baker, Harper, Kan., and one grandchild.
