The funeral service for Larry James Franklin Hendricks, Sr., will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, at Willow Road Christian Church, with Pastor Carrell Still officiating. Masonic graveside ceremony follows in Good Hope Cemetery, south of Helena, OK. A visitation with family will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home.

Larry was born April 10, 1932, on a farm in Alfalfa County to James and Lavlett (Packard) Hendricks and passed away November 8, 2016, in Enid. He excelled at sports as a student athlete and graduated from Farry, OK, in 1950. He received a Bachelor's degree from NWOSU and a Master's in Education from Wichita State, spending 26 years as a teacher, including in Alaska where he and his children homesteaded. Larry was proud to be a Korean War veteran, where he flew for the Navy, and a Life Time Member of the NRA.

Larry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law (caregivers), Chuck and Tia Hendricks of the home; son, Larry Jr. of Enid; daughter, Saundra of North Carolina; son Scott of Missouri; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, and grandson, Nathaniel Hendricks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willow Road Christian Church or The Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma, with the Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
