Chester Glenn Hager, 79, of Helena, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home.

Glenn was born on January 21, 1942 in Alva, Oklahoma. He graduated from Alva High School and continued his education obtaining his degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Glenn married Gayle in April 1970, and shared 52 years of marriage enjoying their lives together as parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Glenn had a love for story telling and never knew a stranger, Gayle often said he could talk to a fence post and have a great conversation. Glenn loved to cook, garden, and had a knack for making jelly.

Glenn spent his career as a civil servant working with families, juveniles and adults. He retired from the Department of Corrections in 2002. Glenn was active in the community, served as the mayor of Helena for several years, and at the time of his death was the acting Commander for the American Legion Post 28. He was a retired veteran who served 28 years in the Army. Glenn loved his country and collected anything and everything that displayed the Bald Eagle. The majestic bird will forever be a reminder of the man we love.

Glenn's service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Helena, Oklahoma. It will be immediately followed by a graveside burial ceremony at Good Hope Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 28 through the funeral home.
