Helena, OK. -- Graveside service for Bessie M. Eakins, 99, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Good Hope Cemetery, near Helena. The Rev. Michael Henrichs will officiate. Arrangements are by Kenny Lanman Funeral Home.
The casket will be open at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. today and from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
She was born June 30, 1895 in what was known as Round Grove, Oklahoma Territory to Harry and Ella Porter and died Monday, Oct. 10, 1994 at the Helena Care Center. She attended school and resided in the Helena area most of her life.
On May 22, 1919, she married Charles M. "Jack" Eakins in Enid.
Surviving are two granddaughters, Donna Curry and DiAnn Aschner, both of Fort Worth, Texas; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965, one son in 1994, four sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the First Christian Church.
