HELENA — Funeral service for Glenda Yvonne DeWitt, 82, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at United Methodist Church, Helena, with the Rev. Joel Thompson and Pastor Len Counter officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena.

Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Dec. 19, at the funeral home. (www.lanmanmemorials.com) Glenda was born Nov. 2, 1931, at home in Helena, Okla., to Harold Dixon and Edna Spiva Dixon and passed from this life at Fairview Fellowship Home on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013.

Glenda graduated from Helena High School.

On July 30, 1950, she married Boyd DeWitt at Helena United Methodist Church, where she was baptized and remained a member all of her life.

Glenda was active in her children’s organizations including 4-H, FHA and Boy Scouts. She was an active member of Eastern Star, receiving her 50-year pin in 2008. She was initiated June 5, 1958, and was affiliated with Cherokee Eastern Star 174. She was Worthy Matron in 1965 and 1986.

Singing was a big part of Glenda’s life. She was a member of the Singspirations for over 20 years. Glenda and Boyd enjoyed square dancing. She belonged to the Jr. Homemakers Club.

Survivors include her children, Vicki Coulter and husband Len of Aline, Gayle DeWitt and wife Gayle of Velma and Jeff DeWitt and wife Jennifer of Tuttle; nine grandchildren, Carrie Thompson and husband Micah, Jason Coulter and wife Michelle, April Soto, Krystal DeWitt, Brittney DeWitt, Andrew DeWitt, Cassidy DeWitt, Gardina DeWitt and Darci DeWitt; 14 greatgrandchildren, Ashley Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Blake Thompson, Kyle Thompson, Tyler Harris, Josh Harris, Logan Soto, Owen Coulter, Emma Coulter, Brandon Andrews, Kaleb Dohm, Jayden Dohm, Blake Nalley and Liam Coulter; brother, Marvin Dixon and wife Roberta of Boise, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the church of Gideons International through the funeral home.
