FLOYD SALATHIEL DAVIS
The funeral for Floyd Salathiel Davis, 89, of Helena, OK., will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005, at First Christian Church, Helena. Pastor Jay Drawbridge will officiate. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., Helena. Visitation will be today and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
He was born July 1, 1916, at Helena, OK. to Salatis W. and Julia Aufranc Davis and died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid, OK.
He attended Timberview and Helena schools, graduating in 1936.
He married Olive Frances Hager July 8, 1940. They made their home west of Helena. He was a farmer and worked 27 years at Alfalfa County Assessor's Office, serving as assessor for 12 years. He also served on Helena Board of Education. He was a member of Helena Christian Church.
Surviving are one son, Leon Davis of Helena, OK.; one daughter, Lucille McFarland of Enid, OK.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, one sister and five brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Christian Church building fund or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart or Kidney Division.
