Gary was born March 10, 1943, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to Everett and Susie Crissup and grew up with his three brothers on the family farm northwest of Helena. Gary was a talented athlete and graduated in 1961 from Helena High School. He is remembered by his family as a kind, honest, and generous man, who provided an example of unconditional love.

He is survived by his wife Janice; his children, Rex Crissup, Michelle Crissup, Kendra Hellman (Chan), and Angela Adamy (Bill); his grandchildren, Joseph Hellman, Tyler Hellman (Devon), Megan Silvey, Matthew Silvey (Shelby), and Michael Silvey (Conny); his great-grandchildren, Jade Hellman, Emerson Hellman, Elias Hellman, and Archer Hellman; his brother, Jack Crissup (Debbie); his brother-in-law, Ronnie Koehn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Eveline Crissup, Dwayne Crissup, and Clarence (C.A.) Crissup (Jeanne); and his in-laws, Edward and Minnie Long, Wayne Long, Don Long, Alvin Long, Jo Ann and Neil Bolenbaugh, and Linda Koehn.
