GERALD F. BRIDGFORTH
The funeral for Gerald F. Bridgforth, 65, of Helena, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Helena. The Revs. Jeff Flournoy and Dean Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, south of Helena. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with the family being present from 6 to 8 p.m.
He was born May 6, 1941, in Peculiar, Mo., to Wilford and Lena Musick Bridgforth and died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at the V.A. Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He served in the Army from 1963 to 1966, serving nearly a year in the Vietnam War. He earned Sharpshooter Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He moved from Belton, Mo., to Helena. He worked for B&B Sand and Gravel as sand plant manager. He was a member of Helena Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and was past noble grand of I.O.O.F. in Belton. He was a member of Pentecostal Church, Anchorage, Alaska.
Surviving are one daughter, Jeannie Luginbill of Stillwater; one son, Gerald F. Bridgforth II of Lampe, Mo.; one sister, Wanda Courtney of Belton; one brother, Norman Bridgforth of Helena; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
