The funeral for Thomas Harry Elliott, 82, of Cherokee, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Church of God, Dacoma. The Revs. Earle Metcalf and Connie Kinnard will officiate. Burial will be in Garrison Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Visitation will be 1- 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon-day at the funeral home and Tuesday at the church before the service.

He was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Dacoma to Charles Randal and Rosa Ana Hiatt Elliott and died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007.

He married Evajoy Smith Aug. 7, 1947, in Dacoma. He received his bachelor’s degree at Northwestern State Teachers College and taught seventh and eighth grade in Cherokee. He moved to Greeley, Colo., where he continued his education, receiving a master’s degree at the university in Greeley. He attended Columbia University. He was a retired elementary principal in Greeley. He was a member of Broadview Park Church in Greeley and attended First United Methodist Church in Cherokee and Church of God in Dacoma. He was a member of National Education Association.

Surviving are his wife Evajoy, of Cherokee; three children, Tomm Joe Elliott of Brazil, Kirk David Elliott of Cherokee and Joy Lynn “Jodi” Graham of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Alden Elliott of Helena; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Church of God, Dacoma or First United Methodist Church, Cherokee.
