Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


A memorial service for Lois M. Thompson, 86, of Cherokee, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Cherokee. Ed Jones, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery.
She was born March 31, 1920, in Alvarado, Texas, to Raymond and Reta Riley Childress and died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at Grace Living Center, in El Reno.
She was raised in Texas and married Thomas White in 1954. She moved to Midwest City where she worked at Tinker Air Force Base in aircaft maintenance as a quality inspector. She married Bobbie Thompson in 1977. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are one son, Sjon T. White of Cherokee; three sisters, Virginia Chase of Midwest City, Polly Sanders of Morgan, Texas, and Sharon Hensel of Duncanville, Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, Thomas J. White and Bob Thompson; one son; one sister; and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to C.W.F. of Cherokee First Christian Church.
