PAUL G. MURROW
A memorial service for Paul G. Murrow, 83, of Cherokee, OK., will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Cherokee. Dr. Ron Hansen will officiate. A private family burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Hopeton, OK. to Frank A. and Ada M. Graham Murrow and died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in Alva, OK.
He lived in the Alva community all his life and graduated from Lambert High School.
He married Elizabeth Ann Bowles May 30, 1943, in Cherokee. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He had multiple careers that included farming and stockman, service manager of Holderby Ford, and county commissioner of Alfalfa County. He was a member of First Christian Church of Cherokee, Cherokee American Legion and was a charter member of Dacoma American Legion and an honorary member of Lambert and Cherokee FFA.
Surviving are his wife, Ann, of Cherokee, OK.; three children, Paulette West of Norman, OK., Pam Patton of Vienna, Mo., and Charles Murrow of Alva, OK.; two sisters, Maxine Cochran of Cherokee, OK. and Phyllis Goss of Pratt, Kan.; one brother, Russell Murrow of Alva, OK.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Share Hospice or the activity fund for Beadles Nursing Center.
