Trina Kay Myers
The funeral for Trina Kay Myers will be held at the Cherokee Friends Church Thursday January 8th 2009 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home.
Trina was born April 23, 1957 to Bob Holden and Irma Gourley Holden in Iola, Kansas and passed from this life on January 5th, 2009.at the age of 52 years, 8 months and 12 days at the Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, Ok.
On November 21st 1975 Trina married Jackie Lee Myers in Cherokee, Oklahoma. They lived in Cherokee until they moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1984. They returned to Cherokee in Feb. 2008. She attended the Friends Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. Trina volunteered at the Thrift Shop in Cherokee. She loved reading books and was an excellent seamstress. Trina loved to draw and wrote many many stories.
Trina is survived by her husband Jackie Lee Myers of Cherokee, her daughter Amber Beth Smith and her husband Aaron of Ponca City, Ok. One Brother Rick Holden and wife Linda and nephew Jason Holden of LaCrosse, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Shea Leah Myers born in 1987.

Cherokee-Funeral service for Jackie Lee Myers will be Monday, March 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cherokee Friends Church where he was an active member. Pastor Joe Woods will be officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing will be Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. www.lanmanmemorials.com

Jackie was born January 19, 1949 in Alva, Oklahoma to Bethel and Marthesia Myers. He passed unexpectedly on March 16, 2016, at the age of 67, from an abdominal aneurysm.

Jackie attended Cherokee Public School System and graduated with the class of 1967. While in high school, he excelled in sports, participating in football, basketball and especially in track where he set a number of high jump records around the state. He set the high jump record at the Cherokee track meet that lasted for over 30 years before being broken.

Jackie attended one year of college before joining the U.S. Navy where he was stationed off the coast of Vietnam while serving on the USS Waddell.

He is survived by his daughter, Amber Smith, her husband, Aaron and grandson, Ethan of Ponca City; his brother, Monty Myers and wife, Dottie of Fresno, California; his brother, Randy Myers and wife, Mary Catherine of Las Vegas, Nevada; his niece, Kimmy Dotterer and her husband, Tim and sons, Tate and Nickson of Norman; his nephew, Greg Myers and wife, Sheena and son, Keaton of Elk City.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shay Leigh; his wife, Trina and by his parents, Bethel and Marthesia Myers.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Friends Church of Cherokee through the funeral home.
