Funeral service for Francis Metcalf, 95, of Enid, Okla., formerly Jet, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Jet United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mary Irby and Jerry LaGrow officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Viewing will be prior to the service on Saturday at the church. (www.lanmanmemorials.com)

Francis was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Cherokee, Okla., to Francis Marion Mason and Ethel Ora Leonard Mason and passed from this life on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, in Enid.

She graduated from Jet High School.

On July 28, 1936, she married Clifton Earl Metcalf. To this union four children were born: Glenda, Pat, Dale and Jody.

Francis worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Attorney Pete Keltch and for the Jet School System.

She lived on the family farm near Jet from 1936 until she moved to Enid in 1990. Francis was a great cook and loved family get-togethers. She enjoyed several hobbies including quilting, scrapbooking, playing bridge, and she loved socializing with her friends. She was a member of Jet United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Earl; and one sister, Geraldine Hays.

Survivors include her children, Glenda Metcalf of Enid, Pat Yoder of Enid, Dale Metcalf of Oklahoma City and Jody Cline and husband Jack of Enid; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Jet United Methodist Women.
