Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


CHEROKEE — Graveside service for Lois McHenry, 42, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Memories may be shared at www.lanmanmemo rials.com.

Lois was born Oct. 4, 1969, in Fort Sumner, N.M., to James McHenry and Angie Madrid McHenry and passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in Cherokee.

Lois had lived in this area for 25 years, moving from Elk City.

To Lois, family came first. She lived to take care of her children and her grandchildren. She also had to always check on her Daddy. She had many friends, most of whom she had gained from waiting on them at Ms. Dottie's Café. She was a hard worker and this did not go by unnoticed.

Lois enjoyed traveling, having taken a trip to Jamaica twice with her husband, Steve. Also, she took frequent trips with her mother to the casinos.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Lonnie Morgan McHenry and Johnnie Leon Hess.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Barrett; her children, James Robert Hess, Sereptia RaeDawnn Hess and Lucas Charles Duncan, Kohannah Sierra Hess; parents, James and Angie McHenry; grandchildren, Aaron Charles Duncan, Brileigh Shai-Ann Duncan, Cashion Leon Duncan, Braxten Kiylon Robert Hess; sisters, Anna Lopez, Donna Irvin and husband Billy, Lindsey McHenry, Anghelina McHenry (NaeNae) and Micheal McHenry; grandmother, Mary Madrid; tons of aunts, uncles nieces and nephews. She also leaves her loving puppy, Esme.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude's through the funeral home.
