JAMES MERLE LARUE
A graveside service for James Merle LaRue, 68, of Cushing, OK. will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Cherokee Cemetery, Cherokee, OK. A memorial will be 3 p.m. at Friends Chapel, east of Coyle, OK. Arrangements are by Palmer and Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
He was born April 24, 1937, in Crescent, OK. to Tom and Mable Elston LaRue and died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at his home.
He married Sharon Marsh July 25, 1965, in Cherokee. He worked for Davon and various other drilling companies, Security Engineering, Division Drilling and Big Horn Drilling. He also was self employed in Enid, OK. and Neosho, Mo., for 25 years. He attended Friends Chapel in Coyle.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon, of Cushing, OK.; two daughters, Tami Watters of Mannford, OK. and Angi Root of Enid, OK.; two brothers, Tom LaRue of Whittier, Calif., and Bill LaRue of Edmond,OK.; one sister, Velma Hood of Guthrie, OK.; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Friends Chapel Memorial Ministry Fund, c/o Friends Chapel, 12212 S. Redlands, Coyle, OK 73027, or American Cancer Society.
