Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


GLENN EDWARD JENLINK
The funeral for Glenn Edward Jenlink, 77, of Cherokee, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Chris-tian Church in Cherokee. Ron Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Elkton, OK., to Albert Lee and Eva Mary VanDusen Jenlink and died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Enid.
He lived in the Cherokee area all of his life.
He married Helen Faye Ball Feb. 11, 1949, in Cherokee.
He became an undersheriff with Alfalfa County Sheriff’s Department. He completed his bachelor of science degree at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and obtained a master’s degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He taught law enforcement courses at Northwestern for 30 years. He attended First Christian Church in Cherokee, where he taught Sunday school. He was a member of COPS Club, Peace Officers Association, Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association and Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.
Surviving are his wife Helen, of Cherokee; two sons, Patrick M. Jenlink and Timothy C. Jenlink; three sisters, Maycel Bontrager, Floy Whittet and Joan McFadin; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son.
Memorials may be made to Northwestern’s Jenlink Family Scholarship Fund or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Alzheimer’s Division, through the funeral home.
