Bessie D. Kendell Hutchinson

Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


Bessie Delores, daughter of the late Commodore Perry and Carrie Mae (Handley) Kendell, was born August 5, 1913, on a farm 16 miles north of Woodward, Oklahoma, and passed away February 15, 1995 at Share Medical Center in Alva, Oklahoma.

On July 31, 1930, Bessie was united in marriage to Charles LeRoy (Roy) Hutchinson at Enid, Oklahoma. They made their home in Cherokee, where she lived for a total of 56 years.

Bessie attended the Bible Mission Tabernacle for many years. After moving to Beadle's nursing home, she attended services at the Alva Church of God. She also went to services held at the nursing home.

Bessie was proceeded in death by her parents, and her husband, Roy, and two sisters, Gladys Lane and Bernice Davis, one daughter, Betty Munsell, and two grandchildren, Audrey Palmer and Danny Palmer.

Bessie is survived by five children, Jack Hutchinson of Cherokee, Barbara Hawley and her husband, Frank, of Alva, Charles Hutchinson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joyce Tidwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Linda Parmley of Enid, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Cletice McDonnell of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Ruby McBee of Warner, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Roberta, Eugene, Gary, and Stacy Munsell, Randy, Lee and Dennis Hutchinson and Jennifer Cooks, Chip, Shannon and Tina Hutchinson, Jay Hawley, Crystal Maul, Connie Rhoades, LaLonna and James Parmley, Audrey Robinson, and Kayla Klick; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
