Mary Evelyn Newlin Green, 70, died at her residence on October 2, 1989. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday at Johnson and Sons Memorial Chapel in Hutchinson. Graveside services will be at 2 PM Friday at Cherokee municipal cemetery with the Rev. Loyd Daniels officiating. She will lie in state at Fisher funeral home from 2 to 9 PM Thursday and from 9 AM to 1 PM Friday.

She was born December 3, 1918 to Ernest F. and Marie Schroder Newlin in Cherokee. She grew up in the Cherokee area. She married Charles V. Green June 1, 1947 in Enid. She was a charter member of Farmerettes Extension Homemakers and a member of Prairie Valley Methodist Church in Cherokee. She lived in Hutchinson for 24 years and was employed by Ashcraft Pharmacy in South Hutchinson for several of those years.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Charles R Green, and a daughter, Marcia S. Railsback, both of Hutchinson; a brother, Edd Newlin, Cherokee; four sisters, Mabel Wright of Cotit, Massachusetts, Lois Latimer of Wichita, Kansas, Barbara Gardner of Amarillo, Texas, and Norma Woodmansee of Cherokee, and two grandchildren

Memorials may be made to Reno County Hospice Association through the Johnson and Sons funeral home, 134 E. Sherman, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
