DORIS MARIE JENLINK EVANS
Funeral services for Doris Marie Jenlink Evans, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006, at the Cherokee First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee. Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
She was born January 11, 1915, on a farm southwest of Jet to Charlie and Luella Dunsworth Jenlink and died Monday, February 6, 2006, at Share Nursing Home in Alva.
She grew up on a farm southwest of Jet and graduated from Jet High School in 1933.
She married Tommy J. Evans July 18, 1934, in Alva. They farmed south of Cherokee and raised cattle. He preceded her in death in November 2000.
She was a homemaker and member of Cherokee First Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are one daughter, Wanda Metcalf Unruh of Cherokee; seven grandchildren; Jayne Cloud of Lake Charles, LA., Joy Reed of Cherokee, Tom Evans of Cherokee, Rashelle Metcalf of Great Bend, KS, LaDonna Metcalf, Great Bend, KS, Austin Evans of Plano, Texas and Jennifer Kiker of Plano Texas; 15 great-grandchildren, Coy Reed, Chase Reed, Carly Reed, Clay Reed, Cara Evans, Christa Evans, Kelsie Harmon, Seth Harmon, Kelly Cloud, Emily Cloud, Abby Cloud, Zoey Evans, Harrison Evans, Jack Kiker and Julianne Kiker; and one great-great-granddaughter, Callie Schartz.
In addition to her husband, Tommy, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry C. Evans, and two brothers, Willis and Willard Jenlink.
Memorials may be given in her honor to either Share Hos-pice or the Cherokee First Baptist Church Youth Fund through Goodwin Funeral Home. (Paid Obit 2-8-1)
