Dale Arnold CUSHENBERY

CHEROKEE-Service for Dale Arnold Cushenbery, 80, will be Tuesday, January 18. 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Lanman Chapel in Cherokee with Chuck Coulter officiating. There will not be a graveside committal service at this time. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Dale Arnold Cushenbery was born on November 12, 1924 in Sharon, Kansas, the son of Henry William and Ellen Elliot Cushenbery, and passed from this life on Friday, January 14, 2005 in Cherokee, Oklahoma. He spent his childhood on several farms in the Sharon, Kansas area and the sandhill area east of Byron, Oklahoma. Dale entered the U.S. Army on March 15, 1945 and served in the Philippine Islands, Korea and Alaska. After serving in the U. S. Army for eight years, he returned home and worked for several area farmers until going to work at Schoeb Feedlot in 1959. He retired in December 1990. He married Linda Failes on December 24, 1959 in Driftwood, Oklahoma. They made their home in Cherokee.

Dale is survived by his wife, Linda of Cherokee; one son, Michael and wife, Doris of Broken Arrow; three daughters, Brenda Prewett, Deborah Dunn and husband, Roy, Sharon Tullis and husband, Jason, all of Cherokee; eleven grandchildren; four brothers, Dewey of Kansas City, Missouri, Roy, John and wife, Laveta, all of Wichita, Kansas, Charlie and wife, Carol of The Villages, Florida and one sister-in-law Charmaine of Rescue, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, two brothers, Floyd and Herb and a son, Rodney.

The casket will be open at Lanman Funeral Home in Cherokee on Sunday 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday 10:00 to 7:00 P. M. and on Tuesday, 10:00 A.M. until 1:45 P.M.

Memorials may be made to Cherokee Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
