Clytice Butler was born September 11, 1923 east of Byron to parents, Elmer Ray “Skinny” Puffinbarger and Jessie Florence Terry Puffinbarger. She passed from this life on June 3, 2018 in Enid. Clytice was raised in the Byron Community and attended her first three years of school at Willow Glen Country School. Then she attended nine years at Byron and graduated in 1941. Clytice and Walter Butler were married August 4, 1941 in Judge Hawk’s home in Anthony, Kansas. To this union two children were born: Walter Louis and Laura Florence. Clytice was well known for being “The Tupperware Lady” which she sold for many years. She also worked at Waldron Grocery Store and played piano for Union Valley Church. She was an avid bridge player and was able to play until recently.

Those who have preceded her in death are her parents; her husband, Walter, in January 2000; son, Walter Louis Butler; grandson, Timothy Ryel; brothers, Marvin Ray Puffinbarger, Herschel Willis Puffinbarger and Carol Fay Puffinbarger; sister, Clarice Jean Vanderpool.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Laura Ryel and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Tamara Goeken and husband, Gary, Terry Ryel and wife, Sandra, Butch Butler and wife, Rhonda and Mike Butler and wife, Shelly; great-grandchildren, Jacob Goeken, Alison and Brian Gustus, Shelby and Jared Bates, Sadie and Stephen Cockrum, Garrett and Kasey Butler, Janea and Brady Carrington and Jessica Butler; great-great-grandchildren, Adler, Hazen and Kelton Bates, Stanten and Sawyer Cockrum and Carter Gustus; brothers, Lynn Douglas Puffinbarger and Loy Elmer Puffinbarger; sister, Muriel Uldine Bushman; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Clytice will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Cherokee with burial in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
