BERNICE MAE (GREEN) BRINING
Cherokee, OK. -- Funeral services for Bernice Mae Brining, 90, will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at the Cherokee First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dwight Mangus and Dean Rainwater officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee, OK. Visitation at the funeral home will be today from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
She was born July 17, 1915 in Ft. Cobb, OK. to M.B. and Grace Miller Green and died August 1, 2005 at her home at Golden Oaks Retirement Village in Enid, OK.
She spent her childhood years in the Anadarko, OK. area, moving to Cherokee upon her marriage to Henry D. Brining in 1935. She lived most of her life in Cherokee, moving with her husband to Golden Oaks Retirement Village in Enid in 1993.
She was a member of Garland Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Leon Brining of Okla. City, OK.; a daughter, Judy Carter of Okarche, OK.; grandsons, Bret Brining of Moore, OK., and Mark Carter of Okarche, OK.; granddaughters, Tiffany Self of Okla. City, OK. and Lisha Oshman of Okarche, OK.; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents, M. B. and Grace Green; two brothers, Richard Green and Harry Green and a sister, Hazel Warburton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the chapel fund at Golden Oaks through Goodwin Funeral Home.
The family would like to express heart-felt appreciation to her loving caregiver, Viola Hale.
