Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


The funeral for Bonnie Jean Bradford, 76, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Cherokee. The Revs. M.L. Hadsell and Brian Warfield will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. The casket will be open following the service at the church.

She was born July 23, 1930, in Alva to E.E. and Lily Rhodes Shipley and died Monday, June 11, 2007, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

She attended school in Alva.

She married Jim Bradford Feb. 12, 1948, in Waynoka, where they made their home. They moved to Oregon City, Ore., then to Mulino, Ore., where they lived for 20 years. In 1974, they moved to Cherokee. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Cherokee. He died in 1995.

Surviving are six children, Michael and David Bradford and Gloria Murray, all of Cherokee, Raymond Bradford of Missouri, William Bradford of Milwaukee, Ore., and Chris Bell of Alva; one sister, Mattie Shipley; four brothers, Frank, Marvin, Price and Jim Shipley; 22 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by one daughter, three sisters, four brothers, two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the charity of donor's choice.
