Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


The funeral for Claud Malcom Blew, 92, who died July 2, 1992, at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, was at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill Smith and Mike Jard officiated. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery directed by Fisher Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 10, 1899, in New Cambria, Mo., to Logan Stanley and Carrie Belle Tarr Blew and had been a resident o Cherokee for 55 years. On May 19, 1928, he married Gladys Lelia Lamb in Pond Creek. He was a supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 37 years of service, and was a member of the Cherokee United Methodist Church and the Cherokee Masonic Lodge for 71 years.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Ruth Thurman of Yukon; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and three half-brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
