Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


CHEROKEE - The funeral for Ruth Jane Prall Beatley, 73, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee. The Rev. Tom Cooksey will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday with the family present an hour before the service.

She was born April 25, 1936, in Hunter to Elmer and Suzy Kline Prall and died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, in Enid.

She attended school in Cherokee. She married Guy Anthony Beatley May 25, 1952. He preceded her in death. She married Art Tucker March 19, 1981.

She cleaned houses in Cherokee. She moved to Alva after her husband's death, where she owned and operated the cafe, Ruthie's Rambling R, and then a curio shop. She later moved to Enid and worked as lead housekeeper for the Ramada Inn.

Surviving are one son, Robert Beatley of Mooreland; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Guy, she was preceded in death by an infant son, one daughter, one sister and one half-brother.
