Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


Graveside funeral service for Myrna Marie Allen, 69, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. There will be no viewing at her request. The family will be at the home of Bobbie Vogelsong.

She was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Amorita to Virgil and Genivieve Shadow Leatherman and died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Share Medical Center, Alva.

She grew up in Amorita and attended school in Amorita and Cherokee. She had owned and operated restaurants in Cherokee, Burlington, Jet and Alva.

She had many hobbies including leather craft, crocheting, computers, baking pies and canning.

She and Bob Allen were married in Miami, Okla., and established their home in Cherokee.

Surviving are her husband, Bob, of the home; her children, Bobby and Marla Sanders of Minco, David and Kimberly Sanders of Chickasha, Lisa and Glenn Hoge of Woodward, Rise' and Bud Wasser of Pocaseet, Billy Young of Colorado, Charles and Debbie West of Cherokee, Lou Ann Hobbs of Florida, Jimmy Allen of Wichita, Kan., Bucky and Helen Bell of Cherokee, and Bobbie and Keith Vogelsong of Cherokee; one sister, Chloe Utterback of Enid; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and an infant daughter, Terri Lynn Sanders.
