Carmen Cemetery


Funeral service for James Roy Watkins, 24, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. today, Sept. 6, 2011, at Central Christian Church with Pastor David Jones of Waukomis Christian Church and Rev. Dr. Stephan Hale of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City officiating. Burial will follow in Carmen Cemetery, Carmen, Okla., under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

James was born July 25, 1987, in Wichita, Kan., and passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

James grew up in the Carmen area and attended high school in Cherokee. He moved to Alva with his family before moving to Enid in 2009, where he met his bride, Christine Eck-Webb. They were married Feb. 26, 2011, at Waukomis Christian Church.

James enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family and playing football.

He is survived by his wife, love of his life, Christine of the home; mother, Shelly Naugle Miller of Fairview; three brothers: identical twin brother, Jesse Watkins, active U.S. National Guard Serviceman stationed in Afghanistan and wife Daniella, Jacob Lee Watkins and wife Ana Martinez-Watkins of Enid, and Joshua Watkins of Oklahoma City; mother-in-law, Andrea Singer of Enid; adopted father/father-in-law, Don Eck; grandmother, Norma Naugle; grandparents-in-law, Eldon and Lavon Eck of Enid; and very special person, Grandma T; special cousins, Kyle and Patricia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lawrence Roy Naugle and Aunt Julie K. Naugle.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for the family at City National Bank with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds. Condolences may be made to the family online at Brown-Cummings.com.
