Billie (Bettie) J. Moser of Carmen, OK died Monday, May 14, 2007 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 1, 1927, to Thomas and Jane (Reed) Sims. Billie grew up and graduated from high school in Tucumcari, N.M.

From a previous marriage she had two sons, Frank Yardley of Flower Mound, TX, and Rockie Yardley of Edmond, OK.

On Feb. 12, 1966, she married Max W. Moser of Carmen, OK. They lived there until their deaths just two months apart. Her stepson, Max D. Moser, lives in Enid.

Billie obtained her B.A. and Master’s degrees from North-western State College in Alva, OK. She retired in 1992 from the James Crabtree Correctional Center in Helena, OK, where she worked as the Senior Correctional Records Officer.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Billie will be held at St. John’s Catholic Parish in Edmond on Friday, June 1, 2007, at 2 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be held for Billie and Max at City Cemetery in Carmen, OK on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. (Paid Obit 5-30-1)

A memorial service for Max Wilson Moser, 84, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Carmen Christian Church. The Rev. Kirk Board will officiate. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Wentworth’s Mortuary, Carmen.

He was born Oct. 5, 1922, on the Moser farm near Carmen to Dean Wilson and Ruby Josephine Gambill Moser and died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in Enid.

He attended Elmott country school and graduated from Carmen High School in 1940. He married Juanita Young Jan. 27, 1940, in Buffalo. They made their home in Carmen. He entered the Air Force during World War II. He served in the Philippines and in U.S.-occupied Japan. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant. After his discharge, he worked in Carmen at a service station, which he bought in 1950 and operated under the name of M.W. Moser Oil Co. He sold the station in 1983 and continued to farm until 1998. He married Billie J. Sims Yardley Feb. 12, 1966, in Medicine Lodge, Kan. They made their home in Carmen. He was a member and deacon of First Christian Church, Carmen, and was a past city council member.

Surviving are his wife, Billie J. of the home; one son, Max Dean Moser of Enid; two stepsons, Frankie Yardley of Flower Mound, Texas, and Rockie Yardley; two grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Carmen First Responders or Helena Ambulance Service.
