Carmen – The funeral for Gerald Ray "Dean" Ikler, 71, of Wichita, Kansas, will be at 11 AM Tuesday at Wentworth Mortuary Chapel, Carmen, with the Rev. Barbara Moser officiating. Burial will be in Carmen Cemetery.
Ikler died Sunday, May 23, 1993, at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita.
He was born September 27, 1921 in Dacoma to Frank Marion and Edna Ruth Heady Ikler. He attended school in Dacoma and served with the Pacific Theater with the U. S. Army in World War I I. He married Zelma Morgan on August 24, 1946 in Wichita. They lived in Carmen and moved to Wichita in 1950. He was a member of the Evangelical United Bretheren Church. He worked for Whitlock Auto Parts until he retired as warehouse foreman.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma; one son, Dick D. Ikler of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Dorthy Simpson of Tulsa and Mary Allen LeBau of Detroit; one brother, Francis Ikler of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three grandchildren and three great – grandchildren.
The family family will gather at the home of Ila Mae Terrel of Carmen before the service.
