Marcella Vivian Swiggett, 95, died August 8, 2018, at her residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Marcella was born December 14, 1922, in Bryon, Oklahoma, to her parents, Ed and Retta Riley. She was the sixth of seven children.

Marcella graduated from Cherokee High School in 1940, and married Guy Leslie Swiggett that same year. They had three children: Leslie Dean, Ann Laree and Richard Lee Swiggett.

During her life she mostly lived in and around Cherokee and Enid, Oklahoma, before moving to Nashville. Marcella loved to sew and was a master quilter.

Mrs. Swiggett is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and John Cummings of Nashville, Tennessee; her sister, Grace DeVore; daughter-in-law, Kelli Ann Swiggett; and six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her sisters, Martha King, Opal Case and Lenora Price; her brothers Harold Riley and Orie Riley; her sons, Leslie Dean and Richard Lee Swiggett.

The funeral for Marcella is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Cherokee. Burial follows at Byron-Amorita Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.
