FLORENCE HARMON
The funeral for Florence Mabel Harmon, 79, of Byron, OK., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Byron Christian Church. The Revs. Robert Kirkpatrick, Vernie Hovorka and Marion Beach will officiate. Burial will be in Byron & Amorita Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee, OK. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
She was born Sept. 4, 1926, near Freedom, OK. to Walter Scott and Della Bragg Young and died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at her home.
She graduated from Freedom High School in 1945. She married Edward Dale Harmon Dec. 27, 1945, in Booneville, Ark. They moved to Byron, OK. in 1962.
She worked as town clerk of Byron for 19 years and 10 years cooking at the Smok-Shak, Ingersoll. She was active in Byron Christian Church.
Surviving are 10 children, Sherry Lowden, Louise Kirkpatrick, Barbara Beach, Larry Harmon, Ron Harmon, Debra Engle, Keith Harmon, Robert Harmon, Nancy Harmon, and Jeff Harmon; a sister Gertrude Lindauer; a number of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Byron Christian Church, Byron & Amorita Cemetery, Share Hospice, Byron & Amorita Volunteer Fire Department or charity of donor’s choice.
