Helen V. Freeman
The funeral for Helen V. Freeman, 95, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Temple Baptist Church. The Rev. Kevin Strope will officiate. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. in Byron-Amorita Cemetery, Amorita. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born April 2, 1913, in Alva to Jacob Day and Maggie M. Rhoades Marsh and died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at her home.
She married Alfred Harshbarger in 1931. He died April 13, 1976, and on Nov. 17, 1978, she married Otice Koozer. He died May 14, 1983. She then married Carl Freeman Sept. 1, 1984, in Hutchinson, Kan. She attended Temple Baptist Church, and was a Sunday school teacher. She worked at JCPenney in Anthony, Kan., for 20 years.
Surviving are her husband, Carl; her children, Alfreda White of Alva, Wilma Moore of Anthony, Kan., and John Spike Harshbarger of Manhattan, Kan.; stepchildren, Rhonda C. Freeman of Jenks and Dwight D. Freeman of Monte Vista, Colo.; one sister, Alene Kissee of Joplin, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Alfred and Otice, she was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Temple Baptist Church or Byron-Amorita Cemetery.
