DAVID ELAM
David Arthur Elam, 59, former Cherokee, OK. resident, died Sept. 17, 2005 at Cedar Creek Living Center, Norman, OK., after years of ill health. Services were held at First Christian Church with Dr. Ron Hansen and Ed Jones officiating. He was buried in Byron-Amorita Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 12, 1946 in Cherokee Masonic Hospital to Aubra and Alice Broce Elam. He attended school in Cherokee, graduating in 1965. During his younger years, he worked for Northcutt Chevrolet and the City of Enid. He also worked at service stations, did construction work and had various other temporary jobs in the Cherokee and Enid communities.
For perhaps the past 20 years, he had lived in nursing homes in Cherokee, Helena, Enid, Moore and Norman.
He is survived by a brother, Alvin of Norman, OK. and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
