Byron & Amorita Cemetery


Cherokee – Services for Ethel Irene Angle, 81, will be at 10 AM Friday at New Life Assembly of God Church, Cherokee, with the Rev. David Whitener officiating. Burial will be in Byron – Amorita Cemetery, directed by Goodwin Funeral Home. Mrs. Angle died Tuesday in Wellington, Kansas.

She was born June 28, 1906, at Amorita, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Byron High School, attended college at Alva and taught school at Lone Tree School, northeast of Amorita.

She and Olen Angle were married May 18, 1927, at Amorita and lived on a farm northeast of town. Mrs. angle a practical nurse, worked at Hardtner, Kansas, and Enid State School before she retired in 1975 and moved back to Cherokee.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cherokee Manor Nursing Home.
