Amorita – Funeral services for Clara Gertrude (Gertie) Hill, 75, who died Wednesday in a Cherokee hospital, will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Community Church at Amorita. The Rev. W. T. McLemore will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee.

Mrs. Hill was born March 3, 1906, at Byron and was married to Leonard Owen Hill July 19, 1926, at Anthony, Kansas.

They lived in Anthony for a short time before moving to Amorita where they lived for 52 years. She was a member of the Amorita Community Church, a 42 – year member of the Jolly – 20 Extension Homemakers and the ABBD Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Hill is survived by four daughters, Mrs. George (Mary Jean) Miller, Amorita, Mrs. Harold (Betty Lu) Angle, Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. Glenn (Virginia Carrie) Powell, Winfield, Kansas, and Mrs. Ambrose (Dixie Lou) Hammond, Byron; three sons, Sam A. Hill, Chattsworth, California, James O. Hill, Mobile, Alabama, and Dan C. Hill, Titusville, Florida; two-sisters, Arilda Collings,-Cherokee, and Ruby Hassanick, Austin, Texas; a brother, Harry Angle, Laverne; 22 grandchildren; 10 great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Ruth, two infant sons, a grandson, a brother and a sister.

Mrs. Hill's family has suggested that those who wish make contributions in her memory to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Cancer Division. Contributions may be made direct or through the funeral home.
