Burlington – The funeral for Benjamin Franklin "Whitey" Ackerman, 83, a retired farmer and employee of Burlington Co-op, will be 10 AM today at Fischer Funeral Home, Kiowa, Kansas. The Rev. William "Bill" Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Burlington.

He was born April 21, 1907, in Burlington to Jacob and Elizabeth Schwindt Ackerman and was a lifetime resident of that area.

On October 29, 1932, he married Margaret Schurter in Burlington. He was a member of Ingersoll Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Jim of Burlington; a brother, Ezra "Blackie" of Burlington; two grandchildren; and four great – grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Burlington Christian Church.
