Aline Star Cemetery


ENID, OK — Funeral service for Virginia Ryel, 83, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Lance officiating.

Burial will follow in Aline Star Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 6:30-8 today, Feb. 28, at the funeral home.

Virginia was born to Adam and Cora (Gayler) Melrose on Feb. 16, 1931, in Carmen, Okla., and died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Enid.

Virginia grew up in Carmen and graduated from Carmen High School. She was a member of Carmen Christian Church.

On March 8, 1949, she married Allen Dean Ryel in Tulsa. They resided in various places in Northwest Oklahoma.

She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Virginia’s favorite job was being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three children, Tom (Jeanette) Ryel of Enid, Sandra (Jim) Baker of Cleburne, Texas, and Allen Ray (Nancy) Ryel of El Reno; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Marvin and Harold Melrose; three sisters, Wanda Nickel, Vera Hughes and Marilyn Huff; and stepbrother, Gary Booze.

Virginia was preceded in death by husband, Allen in 2009; two brothers, Eldon and LaVern; three stepsisters, Jean, Nadine and Joyce; and stepbrother, Oval Booze.

Memorials may be made to OMRF, cancer or heart division.
