Aline Star Cemetery


May 16, 1871 - January 9, 1918

James William Arnold died Wednesday evening at 5 o'clock at the age of 47. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church today at 2 PM. Obituary will be published next week.

James William Arnold was born in Marion, Iowa, May 16, 1871, and died at Aline, Oklahoma, January 9, 1918, age 47 years, seven months and 28 days. In 1884 he with his parents moved to Roxberry, Kansas. He was married to Miss Anna Welch in December 1891 and to this union were born five children. All were present at the funeral. The departed leaves the wife, five children, father, mother, three brothers and one sister to mourn his loss.

Mr. Arnold at the time of the opening of the Cherokee Strip came to Oklahoma and has made his home near or in Aline ever since.

He is well known and admired by the residents of Aline. The community has lost a respected citizen and everyone mourns his loss.
