October 28, 1863 - September 30, 1921

Sarah E. Burnett was born October 28, 1863, in Grantsburg, Indiana. She moved with her parents to Kansas in early life and was united in marriage to William H. Anthony August 6, 1885, at Argonia, Kansas. To this union were born three children, all of whom are now living.

She was a member of the Free Methodist Church. She was converted and gave her heart to God in early womanhood and since has been a faithful soldier for the cause of Christ.

Mrs. Anthony died Friday, September 30, 1921, at the age of 57 years, 11 months and two days. She was a devoted loving wife and mother and leaves to mourn her death a husband, two sons and one daughter: Elmer, Erie and Stella Moore; two brothers and two sisters and a host of relatives and friends.

She was ready and waiting for her Savior's call and often in her days of suffering she would say, "I hope the Death Angel comes for me tonight." Before her call came, she sang a verse of a favorite song and told of the beautiful flower – strewn road she saw so clearly and said she was going alone with her Savior where there would be no more suffering, pain or sorrow. Our loss is Heaven's gain, and with sorrowful hearts and tear- dimmed eyes we can say :

Call not back the dear departed,
Anchored safe on yonder shore;
In the glorious world she's waiting,
Soon we'll meet and part no more.
