Aline Star Cemetery


Cleo Springs – The funeral for Floyd Wesley Anthony, 89, will be 2 PM Saturday at Fairview Church of Christ with Hartsell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Aline Star Cemetery under direction of Lanman Funeral Home.

The casket will be open at the funeral home for family and friends on Friday from 9 AM until 8 PM and on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 AM. The casket also will be open at the church from noon until prior to service time.

He was born February 24, 1909, at Lambert to Spencer and Mary Anthony and died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at the Fairview Fellowship Home.

He married Pearl Hedrik on April 11, 1934 at Alva. They bought a farm west of Aline where they lived and farmed until moving to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked for Boeing. They moved to Cleo Springs in the early 1960s, where they made their home. He preached in the Carmen Church of Christ for several years and was a Major County reserve deputy.

He also served as president of the Senior Citizens Center in Fairview and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Bingham; three sisters, Mabel Smith of Cleo Springs, Jo Lair of Enid, Grace Shurdell of Ohio; two brothers, Emery Anthony of Fairview, Ernest Anthony of Cleo Springs; one grandson; and one great – granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and one sister.
