Erie Anthony, 90, 3824 W. Ritchie, died in a local nursing home early Sunday following a period of ill health. His service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Aline Methodist Church with Dr. William Moorer and the Rev. Randy Grumley officiating. Burial will follow in the Aline Star Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
The casket will be open until service time.
Anthony was born Jan. 24, 1890 in Argonia, Kan., and moved to Woodward County in 1893. In 1911 he moved to Aline where he lived on the same farm for 60 years. He had farmed all of his life.
Anthony moved to Enid five years ago. He was a charter member of the Kiner-Ryel American Legion Post of Aline, having been a Legionare for 50 years, and was a member of the Methodist Church of Aline. He was also a veteran of World War I, serving with the United States Army.
On Feb. 4, 1920, he married Pearle Minnick. She died in 1966.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wilma Jean and Orville Somers, of Enid; and two granddaughters, Connie Wilder, Oklahoma City, and Joyce Wynn, Sapulpa.
