Carrie E. SPICER was born January 7, 1857 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and departed this life September 10, 1945 at the age of 88 years, 8 months and three days, at her home near Westville, in the Addilee community.
She spent the early part of her life in Franklin County, Iowa. At the age of 13 she moved with her parents to Cowley County, Kansas, where she, in 1884, was married to Schuler H. SPICER, who preceded her in death May 25, 1930.
They moved to Oklahoma in 1890 and she has spent most of the remainder of her life, in Okla. except five years in California, coming to her present home in 1924.

Nearly 50 years ago she joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a faithful member to the last with a firm hope in having a part in the First Resurrection at the soon coming of her Savior.
During her long and painful illness of over 17 months she was always patient and cheerful. Everyone who met her spoke of her being so patient through all her suffering. She was loved and respected by all and was affectionately called Grandma.
She was a faithful wife and a loving mother and is survived by one daughter, Leota, of the home and L. B. SPICER of near Stilwell, and L. C. SPICER of Sulphur, Oklahoma, who has just returned from service with the Navy in the Pacific, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren 2 grandsons and one granddaughter being in the service of their Country.
The funeral was held in the Roberts Funeral Home in Westville, September 12, 2:30 p.m. Burial was in Westville Cemetery.
