Ruth Glea Rather, daughter of Clinton Luther and Sylvia Hattie (Lee) Spencer, was born on January 26, 1934 in Custer City, Oklahoma and departed this life on Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Glea married James Rather in October of 1978 and they were blessed with 5 children. She loved her family and devoted herself and her time to them. Glea attended the Pentecostal Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed painting, quilting and crocheting. Glea touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Clinton and Sylvia Spencer, husband: James Rather, sister: Lela Snawder, brothers: Leo, Melvin and Jack Spencer.
Those remaining to keep her memory are her children: Tim Broughton and wife Sheryl of Westville, OK, Shane Clark of Huntsville, AR, Debi Garrett and husband John of Stilwell, OK, Stephanie Owens and husband Greg of Rome, GA, Mickey Yeager and husband Ray of Chance, OK, twin brother: Glen Spencer and wife Ione of Watts, OK, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville with Navil Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery.
