Ruth Arlene McDaniel

Ruth Arlene McDaniel, daughter of Daniel and Ruth (Kuhn) Haldeman, was born on March 9, 1931 in Greencastle, Pennsylvania and departed from this life to be with her Lord on Friday, October 19, 2012 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 10 days.
She married Wendell McDaniel on July 18, 1964 and they were blessed with over 48 years of marriage. Ruth worked as a nurse in her early years. She was very active in the Adair County Home Community Education group and enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and canning. Ruth was a member of Christie Southern Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years and helped in many church projects. Ruth and Wendell loved and collected many animals and rare birds over the years. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister: Catherine Long and 3 brothers: Glen, Daniel and Bruce Haldeman.
Ruth is survived by a loving family that includes her husband: Wendell of the home near Westville, sister: Elizabeth Stahl of Greencastle, PA, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Roberts & Hart Chapel with Bill Matthews officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery.
