Eva Mae Maggard, daughter of Alton Clifton and Linnie (Parrish) Beard was born August 1, 1922 in El Reno, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord August 15, 2009 at the age 87 years and 14 days.
Eva married the love of her life: Edgar Maggard on June 24, 1938 and to this union 5 children were born: Phyllis, Letha, Sharon, Winford and Linnie. They were married for 61 years before Edgar’s passing. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She also worked as a cook at the Westville Dairy Bar for several years before going to work at Baldor Electric where she was employed for 7 years. Eva attended the Mt. View Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She was a really great cook and seamstress but most of all a fantastic mother for her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Alton and Linnie Beard, Her husband; Edgar Maggard, 3 brothers; Clifton, Leo and Henry Beard, 1 sister; Imogene Cross White and 1 grandson; Scott Goldman.
Eva is survived by a very loving family that includes 1 son; Winford Maggard and wife Janice of Westville, Ok, 4 daughters; Phyllis Page of Tulsa, Ok, Letha Graham and husband Keith of Dallas, Ga, Sharon McMurtrey and husband Garlan of Westville, Ok, Linnie Campbell and husband Winifred of Tahlequah, Ok. 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 3 great -great grandchildren, 4 sisters; Faye Tuttle and Gladys Johnson of Westville, Ok, Artie Long and husband Bill of Westfork, Ar, and Dora Lagaly and husband Willie of Arlington, Tx, 1 brother; Jim Beard and wife Georgia of Yukon, Ok, 2 sisters-in-law; Wanda Maggard and Flossie Maggard, 1 brother-in-law; Kenneth Maggard, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with Bro. Larry Kindle officiating. Interment followed in the Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
