Submitted by: Wanda Elliott

The charred body of Ira Otho LEWIS, 73 year old veterinarian and horse trainer, was found in his burned home here in the east part of town, at six o'clock Tuesday morning.

Some of the household goods had been carried from the burning building before the fire company arrived, indicating that LEWIS probably had been overcome in the flames while removing his belongings from the house.

LEWIS was home alone while his wife was away on a visit. The family lived on a farm northwest of town before purchasing their town home two months ago, which was completely destroyed by the fire.
Grave-side services were held Wednesday afternoon at the City cemetery, conducted by Rev. T. DeWitt SANKEY, assisted by the Westville and Stilwell A.F. and A.M. Lodges.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Deama PHILLIPS of Westville, Mrs. Alma BROTHERINGTON of Clarksville, Ark., Mrs. Beulah MCMAHON, Ponca City, Okla., Mrs. Grace MCCOY, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Dot EDMONDS of ElDorado, Kansas; one son Harold, of Vinita; seventeen grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The Record force joins the other friends and neighbors in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
