Kenneth Dale Crittenden, 55, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Dale was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on June 1, 1964 to Herman Jay and Ina Jo Crittenden.

He is survived by his brother, Cecil Leon Crittenden of Westville, sister, Carol J. Montgomery of Gentry, Ark., sister: Judy K Crawford and husband Michael of Gentry, Ark. and several nieces and nephew.

Dale graduated from Westville in 1982 and attended college at NSU, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. Upon graduating from NSU, he took his first teaching position at Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas. After leaving Haskell, he moved to Bloomfield, New Mexico. He spent several years there before returning to Oklahoma. He taught history, summer drivers’ education and coached football at several different Oklahoma schools.

During his off time of school, he spent his time working as groundskeeper at Southern Hills Golf Course, which turned into a passion of keeping his yard and his sister’s yards weed free.

After stressful summers teaching driver’s education, he retreated to Colorado for four wheeling and camping in the mountains.

Dale loved hunting, keeping his yard weed free and spending time with his family. His nieces and nephew were his joy in life. He will be deeply missed by all.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 22, 2019 at Impact Church, Westville with David Johnson and Jeff Collyge officiating.

Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery, Westville, under the direction of Roberts & Hart Funeral Home, Westville.
