James Wallace Worsham, son of James Thomas and Ethel Mae (Holt) Worsham, was born on May 9, 1949 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Wallace served his country proudly during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Hawaii.
He wore many hats during his work career. He worked for the Family owned Holt Telephone Company in Stilwell and the telephone company in Prairie Grove. He owned and ran the M & W Video Store in Stilwell for several years. He was also the director of the Stilwell Housing Authority for a period of time. Wallace liked the peacefulness of being outside and enjoying a coke. He always dreamed of living in the country and loved the acreage that he ultimately lived on, caring for his cows and horses. He was an avid reader, a good pool player and was always up for a game. Wallace enjoyed building and remodeling, but he was unable to complete planned projects because of his health. He was a valued member of the Stilwell Community and will be missed.
His parents: J.T. and Ethel Worsham, sister: Sandra Worsham, grandparents: James and Eva Worsham, J.W. and Etta Holt, uncles: Robert Holt, Shug Worsham and cousin: John Holt preceded him in death.
Wallace is survived by Mary Catherine (Houseberg) Worsham, Tim Houseberg, Andi Houseberg, Cody Poteet, Jackie Wayne Worsham, Cathy Woodruff, Rosalind Sudbury, Nana Johnson, Jerry Ann Dunn, Candice Summers, Nanette Holt, Charles Holt, Amanda Holt, Dixie Deen, Janice Donalson, Robert Holt, Lynda Buckner, Pam Terry, Stephen Holt. Many other family members and friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Charles Crozier, Byrl David Kelley and Bill Sanders officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
